Homework - Watch a Film.

1. Chosen Film: Finding Nemo

2. Binary Oppositions:
Througout the film we see various binary opposition, one of the most obvious is Marlin (Nemo's Dad) vs the big wide oceanand all the danger that may be closer than he thinks, when he has to go and try to find and rescue his only child Nemo.
Another binary opposition is Fish vs Sharks, which makes a few appearance througout the film where three sharks are met; Bruce, Anchor and Chum, who claim to not eat fish, however at one point Bruce loses it and try to eat Marlin.
At one point Nemo vs "The Tank Gang", this is when Nemo first gets placed into P.Sherman (A Dentist) fish tank.

3. The equilibrium of Nemo starting his first day at school is disrupted when the school of fish go to the edge of the reef. Nemo is picked on by the other fish for having a little fin, who are seeing who can swim the closest to the fishing boat. However, Nemo is having none of it and proves them wrong by swimming all the way to the boat, touching it, and swimming all the way back. On the way back Nemo bumps into a couple of scuba divers who captures him and takes him away!

This is where the search for "Finding Nemo" begins.

4. The elixir which helps to return everything back to normal starts when they find the address of where Nemo has been taken to:

P.Sherman,
42 Wallaby Way,
Sydney

This encourages Nemo's dad to search for him. Another elixir is when word of what has happened is passed around the ocean about the tragic event, this then encourages all those who found out, to help Marlin. They work as a team to guide Marlin and his friend Dora in the right direction for the location of Nemo. "The Tank Gang" help Nemo to escape the tank he has been put in, and he returns to the ocean, where eventually he meets back up with his dad and they head back to their sea anemone at home!

Narrattive and Story Analysis
Film Chosen: Toy Story 3

1.  The main story types that could be applied to Toy Story 3 are, Adventure, Action and Comedy.

2.

3.

4. The hero in Toy Story 3, I would consider to be "The Aliens". This is due to them saving Andy's Toys from being killed in a recycling machine, using a large Claw.

5. Throughout the film there are a couple of villians, but the main one would have to be "Lots-o-Huggin' Bear". I think this because he is the one who puts Andy's Toys in a life or death situation, leading them to almost being burnt alive and killed!

6.
